Partnership
The partnership between the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Kentucky Ag Development Advocacy (KADA, Inc) focuses on enhancing conservation efforts and supporting underserved farming communities. Together, we facilitate educational workshops, provide direct assistance to farmers, and resolve issues through comprehensive support and collaboration.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offers various programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture in the U.S. These include technical and financial aid for implementing conservation practices that improve soil health, manage water, enhance habitats, and reduce pollution through programs like EQIP, CSP, and ACEP. These efforts support sustainable agriculture and stewardship, preserving American lands for future generations.
The Web Soil Survey (WSS) is an online tool that provides soil data and information produced by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. It offers comprehensive access to the largest natural resource information system in the world, allowing users to create custom reports by selecting specific areas of interest on an interactive map. The WSS provides detailed soil descriptions, classifications, suitability, and limitations for use, assisting in land planning and management decisions.
National Conservation Practice Standards are guidelines from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) that outline consistent, quality measures for implementing conservation practices across the U.S. These standards help manage water quality, soil erosion, wildlife habitat, and other environmental goals. Supporting documents such as technical notes and guides assist in applying these practices effectively, ensuring their proper design, installation, and maintenance.
